Use your specialized accounting knowledge and skills to successfully design optimal accounting processes for nonprofits.

Job Type: Full-time

Workplace Type: Hybrid

  • 2-4 years of full-cycle accounting experience
  • Proven track record of successfully managing multiple projects at once
  • Significant experience in direct client service
  • Experience with cloud-based accounting systems and tools (such as QuickBooks Online, Sage Intacct, Xero, ReceiptBank, Expensify, and/or Bill.com)
  • Must be local to Saint Louis, MO or willing to relocate; relocation assistance may be offered to an ideal candidate.

What you will be doing:

  • Facilitate meetings and discussions with new clients.
  • Complete a comprehensive assessment of the financial accounting records of all new clients.
  • Accounting system set-up and migration, whenever required.
  • Provide answers to clients on technical accounting questions.
  • Reconcile account balances and record corrective entries, where necessary, so that all new clients are considered audit-ready when onboarding is completed.
  • Perform bookkeeping services, as needed, for new clients.
  • Provide training and support to clients with respect to newly implemented accounting processes.
  • Develop standard accounting processes for new clients that leverage technology to optimize for efficiency and internal control best practices.
  • Train our accounting associates and accounting managers on new client processes to ensure a smooth transition from onboarding to ongoing client service.

What makes this role unique?

To keep up with the growth of our business and ensure we make the best first impression with new clients, we are forming a ‘dream team’ of onboarders. Our onboarding team members work exclusively with new clients to ensure a smooth transition from onboarding to ongoing accounting services. This role is very client-facing and a perfect fit for that extroverted accountant that likes to interact with people. This role will involve working exclusively with new clients to ensure a smooth transition from onboarding to ongoing accounting services.

Our new clients have differing accounting situations. In some cases, we are replacing another outsourced accounting firm. In other cases, we are replacing an in-house finance director or CFO. Some of our new clients do not have an established accounting system or require an accounting system migration.  In nearly every case, our new clients require some level of accounting clean-up and process improvement. This role is ideal for someone that likes working on new projects and finding new solutions. This is not your typical repetitive accounting role!

A successful candidate will be a task master with strong project management skills. They must be able to work well under pressure and, at all times, focus on client service. Tech-savviness is non-negotiable.

Our onboarding associates are responsible for facilitating the onboarding process for multiple clients at any given time. The candidate would manage the entire onboarding process for multiple clients at any given time. Advanced accounting knowledge, comfortability with technology and software, and strong interpersonal skills are considered a necessity for this role. The candidate must be willing to invest time and energy into assessing a new client’s accounting system and requirements, cleaning-up account balances, designing optimal accounting processes, and providing the best possible client service.
